WHAT ARE LIONESSES?
Most of us are females age 18 to infinity who have joined together in friendship & enjoy each other’s company. We pride ourselves on playing an active part in the local community & beyond, helping those less fortunate than ourselves, as well as enjoying a social life with like-minded individuals who come from all walks of life. A BRIEF HISTORY
Lioness Clubs, through their sponsoring Lions Club, are a part of the largest service organization in the world. We take a “hands on role” in improving the quality of life in the local community & the wider world. We, as Lionesses, manage to do more for those less fortunate than we could possibly do on our own.

The Lititz Lioness Club meets on the second Thursday each month at 6:30 PM in Fieldcrest Dining Room at Brethren Village,  3001 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA 17606

eXTReMe Tracker
Lioness Clubs began in America as a result of the success of the auxiliary clubs which were started for the wives of then, the all-male Lions Clubs. The Lioness emblem & the name were approved in 1975 & membership was open to any lady over the age of 18, whether or not she was married to a Lion. The first Club to be formed was Mount Pleasant Club in North Carolina on Dec. 24, 1975. In the ensuing years, probably around 1995, Lions International dropped the Lioness Clubs but individual Lions Clubs around the world still sponsor their community Lioness Clubs. HOW THE LIONESS CLUBS WORK
Lionesses are not just a group who get together over a cup of coffee. We are a “professional” organization that holds regular business meetings. Our sponsoring Lions Club is the Lititz Lions Club. Individual Clubs decide on their own, ways of working & attending to the business of “giving back” to humanity. Clubs organize their own events as well as deciding how best to raise funds for various causes. Most importantly, every penny taken from the community goes back to the community.
